Spouse - The Truth About Marriage

Hi Friends,

I am back with my thoughts on this book - Spouse - The Truth About Marriage.

Reason Why I read this : I am getting married shortly so I am doing all kind of research and development available on the net and off the net.

But I am highly disappointed as this books talks more of Divorce than of marriage. Previously when I read all others telling Shobhaa De as ’’Much Hyped’’ I used to feel awkward. But after reading her book (This is the I have read of Shobhaa) I now fully agree with them.

Shobhaa is right now into her second marriage since her first didn?t work out well. Herself being a divorcee I think she knows the in and outs of the marriage. What goes wrong, How Wrong, How to do repairs, How to do what......... things like that.

But you would be surprised to know the atlas half the material she has taken from https://about.com’s marriage section. As I have been reading a lot lately from all across the sites, I am shocked to see that even the sentences, examples are taken from there.

I don?t know why. Word to word same things are written, there is no contribution from her side apart from the personal experiences like what she’s been sharing with readers about her second marriage with Dilip and her kids (she has 6 kids). About her bungalow in Alibag (I don?t know where it is in map of India).

This books looks more dedicated to the fast and advanced life of Mumbai.

MIND IT - it?s not a story.

As I thought it must be a story with personal remarks from Shobhaa ji, but alas its nothing but her personal experience, which is of no use to readers.

250+ pages of books she’s been cribbing about the problems a person is going face after getting married. Solutions are given on the last page of each chapter.

The full book is dedicated cum written from the perspective of a Working Women.

I am sure that if my would be wife reads it - she will start fighting with the very first day about her rights, a separate home away from my parents, no kids, joint bank account with full withdrawal facility etc (Hope you are getting my point) :)

There is no plot to be disclosed.
