SRM Overview- I am currently a student of srm university 2nd year doing my b.tech with cse branch. I would say that in terms of infrastructure, big buildings and large campus it seems to be very promising. But in recent conditions the reputation of srm university is degrading very rapidly. As we know that all the aspiring candidates would be choosing this university only for jobs but in campus selections also we saw a great disappointment among 2000 candidates only 400 were selected and that too with low packages . The annual package in srm university is less than 3 lakhs . I strongly think that if you are doing B.tech by giving 12 lakhs this much less amount of package is not worth it. Instead of coming to srm prepare for jee once again.
HOSTEL- As we know its very hot and humid in Chennai and there are very few ac rooms available and also they cost a lot of money. even for non ac rooms they cost a lot of money. it cost me around 1 lakh 20 thousand and I am hearing that from next year they are going to increase rate even more.
MESS FOOD- The would say that the food is okay if u like to eat south indian foods even though the north indian food is available but it dosen’t tastes that good. even you are non-vegetarian then you like food here because they give 3 days chicken and alternative is paneer for vegetarians but the quality of paneer is very bad.
SPORTS- As I said srm is famous for its large campus so there is no issue of availability of grounds. if you talented in sports then you can achieve many things with the help of srm.
RESEARCH- SRM almost supports every student who wants to go in the field of research also they raise large amount of funds to students in their further research
OVERALL- If are looking for a life with enjoyment and you are rich, job security and annual package is not an issue for you then its definitely your place.
