St.Joh's Medical College Hospital, Sarjapur Road,

On 20th September, 2016, me and another member of my family were there at this Hospital, OPD, as per appointments fixed in advance(Token# 1 & 2). For both of us, this was our 2nd visit. Being a Sr.Citizen, I went to the Sr.Citizen counter and the other person accompanying me, to the re-registration counter. While I was charged Rs 350.00(For Special Consultation, Token #1), the other person was charged Rs 90/- only(General Consultation, Token#30, Queue). At the Counter, they did not explain why I am being charged Rs 350/-. When I enquired about the difference from ’May I Help You’ counter, they explained that I will be attended immediately, and the other person is in Queue. But when I reached in front of room # 15(Dr.Ishwar Bhatt), token# displayed was 28. After 31, they called me(token#1), and next they called the other person(token#30). While the service offered was same for both of us, one person was charged Rs 350/- and the other person Rs 90/-. As is clear from the above, I did not get any special consideration for paying Rs 350/-. Sr.Citizen, counter, normally is to help Sr.Citizens get through without much hassle, and to offer discounts if any but definitely not to overcharge them.

This is a great hospital with very good doctors. Supporting staff, including administrative staff needs to be helpful to the large number of patients visiting the hospital daily. To, this effect, I had sent a mail to their PRO, but I did not get any response so far.
