A group of 12 people from our company had gone to this place for lunch buffet.
One of the members is also the person who makes decisions on whether to host the
company conferences, arrange dinners etc for the employees hence we wanted to
try out new restaurant. Our woes started form the time we started enquiring
about the buffet lunch on phone, before booking. 1 person of our group was told
that executive lunch would cost 450/person (inclusive taxes) and other was told
475/person (inclusive taxes). Anyways we went ahead and booked table in this
restaurant. When we went in they were not ware of the bookings. Maybe this is
because the restaurant is always empty! When we were waiting for our
arrangements to be made, we saw only a group of 2-3 persons who had their lunch
and while leaving they were commenting that the chicken is stale. Ignoring that
still we went ahead to "enjoy" our lunch. The waiters were very ill informed as
to what drinks form part of the buffet lunch. Then we were told about the choice
of starters we have. We informed them to get atleast of a dish of all so that we
can then decide which one’s better and order more if required. However the
waiters just got two varieties (one for veg and other for non-veg). When we
inquired about the other varieties then we were asked to wait for 10-15 mins for
chicken kakabs to be prepared. By the time they were brought we had lost
patience and hence we immediately proceeded to the main course. When we went for
first helping we found that the quantity of food that was laid out was very
less. We were very much frustrated and did not ask them to refill the same. The
waiters too were watching the food quantity but never bothered to refill the
finished items. Again we lost patience and did not enjoy the main course at all.
We went ahead for the desserts which were good comparatively. Moong halwa from
the dessert menu was the only silver lining! When the bill was paid there was no
provision for even writing a feedback which usually should be the case,
especially when the restaurant is new. We very much regretted going to this
restaurant and spending 500 Rs/person and getting shabby treatment. We had
earlier visited Sigree restaurant (Dhole Patil road) and we feel Sigree is 100
times better than this. We can have two such lunch buffet at Sigree in the cost
of St.Laurn with almost same menu and better quality of food and service. So
unless you want shabby treatment, everyone please avoid this restaurant and try
other places. You will never regret not visiting this so called new 4 star deluxe
restaurant in the town.
