St.Marten/St.Martin/St.Maarten
I live in St, Marten for a month when I was 18 years old. It is a very beautiful place if you get to tour the Island. There are two parts to St.Marten, the Dutch and the French. I dont know that much about the Dutch side. My sister works on the Dutch side of the Island but she lives on the French side. She was born in St.Marten and moved to Dominica when she was a baby. Anyway, when I lived there I would often go to the Casino. The food is great. The people seem cool. The food varied from French cuisine to Tokyo sushi. Whatever food you eat you will find it there. The French side is great for shopping. You can use either French Franc or US dollars in St.Marten.The beach are great. St. Marten is blessed with 37 beaches which are use for water sports, swimming, and snorkeling, while secluded coves offer private retreats. There are nude beaches on the French side and the Dutch side is more moderate. The Mullet Bay is perfect for swimming. Some of the more famous beaches include Dawn Beach, which is very beautiful at seven in the morning. As for the culture, Carnival comes to St. Marten once a year, bursting upon the senses just after Easter. The first of the Jump-Up parades that will wind their way through the streets until April 30. The tourists are frilled with a duty-free fervor that never seems to end; night on St. Marten is a time when things are just beginning. Much of the nightlife is concentrated at the big resorts, which combine nightclubs, restaurants, and late-night shopping. You would dance to the music of a steel drum band anyone can go to the hotel dance club party. The islands discos attract an all crowd, all different music are played. But, the best Caribbean music on the island can be found at the islands many live-music clubs, where one is as likely to find as many locals as visitors. Among the island hot spots are the Greenhouse, News Music Cafe,
Cheris Cafe and Amnesia.
There are some places that are like all other Island with a little of poverty (not developed). All in all I would say St.Marten is a good place to visit especially for
Honeymooners. The hotels are also beautiful. Your stay there would be worth the price you pay for it.
