I opted SCB credit card for two reasons.
I used to stay at Mumbai in a rented flat and have a salary accountwith ICICI. When requested for credit card, ICICI refusedit on the basis that I dont possess landline at rented flat.
After many calls on my office number, mobile phone (dont know how do they get the numbers and name of the person ), visits of different agents from SCB, I finally gave up and decided to have a credit card of my own with a bank known for its high (?) standards.
I was told that being an employee of XYZ company, my Executive credit card would be free of any yearly fees. Its only later I realised that I was charged some weired fees for a purchase in India and New Zealand.
Now I am in New Zealand and the worst part is the payback options. They dont have online payment method. I cant pay back using my ICICI online banking. I have to arrange someone drop a cheque in limited cheque collection centers at limited locations.
They even charged Rs 100 fees for outstation cheques and then 12.24% service tax on top of that.
Here are some observations about netbanking facility
- Each time I try to login using online banking, it takes me to a survey page, I had done it thrice, but
still the page bugs me again and again
I cant check any transaction older than 90 days
Instead of showing my detailed account information, the page shows me some unnecessary
foreign exchange /fixed deposit rates
After all cons, I have experienced few pros about their service. I had asked my daddy in India to arrange a cheque from his ICICI account. There was some mistake then in account number. The amount got debited from my ICICI but not credited to SCB. After communicating to their customer care executives, and presenting them the proofs- letter from ICICI branch manager, account statement etc. After showing them the proofs, the amount finally got credited to my SCB cheque account.
Have realised one thing, although I was trying from New Zealand through emails etc, they responded only when they spoke with my daddy. This indicates email communication is somehow still not considered valid.
