I am forced to post here because of some rather unpleasant experiences with Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card over the last 7-8 months. I would like to share in detail about my horrendous experiences with this Bank.
I had a Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card. However, in November 2012, I had requested for disconnection of the card. I did the needful as instructed by the customer care folks (I broke the card into pieces, attached a letter of disconnection and dropped an outstanding payment cheque in the dropbox of the bank). But the card never got disconnected/cancelled.
In the month of April after following up with the customer care, it was brought to my notice that my card was still active. During all these months (Nov 2012 to April 2013), I was getting bills in-spite of me not doing any transactions. I had also made all the outstanding bill payments. (The biggest thing this that I had already broken the card)
Finally, the card got cancelled in April 2013 but the bills continued to come every month with addition of interests etc.
After several follow-ups with the Customer Care Executives, there was no satisfactory response and support or help whatsoever. Finally, out of frustration, I paid Rs 4560/- which I wasnt even supposed to pay just to get rid of this menace. Also the Customer Care Executive told that once this amount is paid, I will not get any further bills or reminder smses to pay the outstanding.
However, much to my dismay, I again got a bill this month without even having the card with me.
I am frustrated, irritated, annoyed with such an unprofessional behaviour from a renowned bank.
