Please be aware of Standard Chartered Credit Cards, esp. if you are holding any executive or silver card. They promise you moon standing on ant holes. I have been using this card since 6 years and I have no one but to blame myself for using it continuously for the last six years.
When the whole world is offering me life time free card, I was paying annual charges for this card. Finally they started calling me to convert this into life-time free card for a one time fees of Rs.3000. Once you decline them its not the end of the road, they keep chasing you every second month. You feel so irritated by their calls that you as well listen to them once rather than receiving their calls every time.
They promised me life time free card for Rs3000.00 and Gift Vouchers from Travel Port worth Rs3000.00. I fell in their trap and agreed with them and what I got from them is Discount Vouchers from Travel Port. Its simple, the need to spend Rs 10, 000 and would get a discount of Rs 750.like wise I just need to spend and get discounts.and all valid for a limited period of time. Someone needs to explain the marketing department of Standard Chartered the difference between Gift Vouchers and Discount Vouchers.
My balance outstanding was RS4515 and I paid 3, 000 before the due date. To my surprise the interest charged was Rs.863.00. When I spoke with the Customer Service Centre, they informed me since I had not paid the full amount; they have charged interest on my latest transaction which I did 20 days back. If this is their policy, then I am sorry this policy is against the customer. Why should I pay interest on the transaction which I have done just 20 days back and I still have time to repay.
Net of all, Please dont trust Standard Chartered. There are thousands of companies offering credit card, please go for any one of them but not Standard Chartered, even if this is the last credit card company on this earth.
A frustrated Standard Chartered customer.
