I had chosen StanChart Classic card only to suppliment my Citibank credit card. Compared to Citibank, StanChart stands nowhere.
Their 24-hour helpline is not that good, the helpline telephone number for Chennai they supplied to card holders doesn’t exist. They intimated me of confirmation of my address change after a good 20 days. Also, the bank does false promises. It claims that the card holder gets thrice the reward points for about 3months to those who applied for a StanChart card between October-Dec 200. I, having applied during this period, get only the normal reward points.
Other facilities like Teledraft, Lost card liability, Insta Buys etc are costlier compared to Citibank.
Also, the bank doesn’t have an ECS facility to debit your card dues from your account unless you have a savings account with StanChart itself. So, it bugs you everytime to remember the due date and send cheques in time. Otherwise the fines are heavy too.
The bank’s website doesn’t offer any services to the card holders.
