Star Cruise - Nothing like it!

This is referring to Star Cruise Libra. When I saw it for the frst time, I was awestruck . Not only was it the first time I was travelling by a ship, but it was a memorable experience. It was an official trip planned by the organisation where my father works. It was a 1 day trip, where the ship would start from Mumbai Port and travel some distance right into the Arabian Sea and then return back the next day.

The ship might have been about 10 storeys tall and I got a chance to go on the topmost deck . The view was awesome , especially when the ship began cruising deep into the Arabian Sea. The cruise began at around 7:00 p.m in the evening and as night fell, nothing could be seen except darkness.

Speaking of the facilities, it was almost comparable to that of a 5 Star hotel. There were a total of about 700 rooms in the ship(for passengers as well as employees). Each room had 2 beds, a bathroom, a television set and also a window providing an outside  view. There was a centralized air conditioning system throughout the ship. Basically, the interior design was like that of any good hotel. Apart from this, there were around 7 or 8 restaurants. Each restaurant provided different varities of food such as Indian, Continental, Sea food, fast food, etc. On the topmost deck, games for children and adults were available. There was also a small swimming pool. People could enjoy DJ nights and parties in the same deck.

Each deck of the ship had something unique to offer. There were about a couple of stores which I visited in the ship which sold fancy items as well as various other things such as toys, household goods, etc.

The ship also had hosted various shows such as magic & dance based shows performed by proffessional troupes of various countries. There were video games, bars, gambling arenas and much more which would make my list endless. The ship was like a mini city in itself.

We were also given a safety briefing by the staff  for emergency situations. The ship had around 5 to 6 life boats, with each life boat having a capacity of holding as much as 150 people.Proper instructions were given to the passengers regarding such situations.

Overall, it was really a memorable experience for me and I would recommend this for anybody who would love to go for a cruise. Although, the cost of even a 1 or 2 day cruise or more would be a bit high, I feel it is worth it.
