I have an accusation on STAR HEALTH AND ALLIED INSURANCE CO , they gave me run for my money and did not reimburse 50% of my hospitalization expenses .
the process of claiming itself is very conventional and cumbersome , they take long time to process your bills and will torture you to provide irrelevant and non existing documents . I spent months of time in sending them followup letters over courier and then they replied only after many weeks.
Finally when they reimbursed they had knocked of 50% of the bill saying the hospitalization was because of per-existing diseases. But it was not a pre-existing diseases doctors had categorically provided the medical reports stating that it is not a pre-existing diseases . however the STAR co declined the medical reports and cheated me of my claim amount .
Its functions like a typical bureaucratic administration , its very difficult to reach them with your concerns , they make you run from pillar-to post . I had to write multiple letters to branch office , regional office and then to head office . I only got a petty amount of my claim . rest of the 50% of the claim amount was denied .
