Star health has hiked premiums for certain plans by as much as 100%. Yes its unfair and there are several who are shocked at this. Health insurance sector is an evolving industry in India and it is the easiest way to loot. Remember when cell phones were new and an incoming call was 16 rupees a min. As usual in a country like ours with subsequent corrupt governments, the new one being more corrupt than the preceding, consumers are always on the losing side. We need to fight and unite as one against this injustice.
There is a movement which has started and I will post the latest news. Soon there will be a site dedicated to it and everyone can log on to express their views. This will be then directly passed on to the regulatory bodies and the concerned ministry for review and protection of consumer rights. Its just the beginning.
