I have taken an health insurance policy from Start Health Insurance for my In-laws. Recently my mother-in-law- has to undergo the Thyroid operation.
We have approached a network hospital listed in the Start Health Insurance website. Star has partially paid the bills. Hospital authorities has asked us to pay the pending amount before taking the patient as Star is taking virtually infinite time to clear the bills.
We have paid the pending amount which almost 1/3rd of the total bill and discharged from the hospital. We have applied for the reimbursement but there is no response from the Start. Every time we call Call center they asked us to call after a weeks time.
Luckily time has come for me to pay the premium. I called the agent through whom I have taken the policy and asked him to check the status of the claim. This time agent has come up with the breakup describing the claim and sanction.
He says that hospital has overcharged in many aspects and the company can not reimburse any more. In turn he is asking me to send a mail to him begging to give me at least peanuts. May be hospital is fraud, but then company should blacklist that hospital immediately or settle my claim completely.
Another part of the story is that they have reduced the cover for my father-in-law since he is diabetic. Agent has promised me that the cover will be increased in the subsequent renewal but now the same agent is telling that he can not help me.
I am very unhappy with the service.
