Hello everyone,
I want to warn you about my negative experience with Star Health Insurance company. Despite communicating with multiple representatives, including executives, branch heads, customer care, and the grievance department, they did not take my concerns seriously.
We ported our National Insurance Policy(351800502010001612) into Star Health(P/161130/01/2022/038824) in 2021, which ran from 2013 continuously. We had also made a claim for the same illness in 2015. During the portability process, I disclosed my mothers spine problem and submitted all the necessary documents. However, to increase policy numbers, Star Health did not disclose the mothers illness in the proposal and portability forms.
I asked several questions regarding this situation, but I did not receive any satisfactory answers. For instance, I asked why Star Health would agree to port a policy if it did not cover the medical condition in question, why an eight-year-old policy that was ported should not cover the illness, and why I should suffer because Star Health did not disclose my disease in the proposal form and other portability forms.
Despite my numerous attempts to communicate my concerns, Star Health canceled my mothers policy, citing my failure to disclose a pre-existing disease(PED).
I utilized all channels of communication, including customer care, the Gurugram office, the Grievance department, and thousands of emails. Eventually, I had to register a case with the Ombudsman, which took over a year. On November 16, 2022, the Ombudsman found Star Health guilty and awarded it in my favor.
However, five months have passed since the ruling, and Star Health has still not rectified the situation. The Gurugram team is unresponsive, and their members are evasive and unhelpful. Members involved in the whole fraud were Manish Bansal, Sumit Sirohi, Shivali Goel, Priyanka, and others.
Someone may consider this message to be fake; however, I possess all the original documents if anyone requires them.
I suspect that government bodies may be involved in this type of fraud since many policies suffer from similar problems every year, and nobody seems to be listening.
I cannot fully express the difficulties I have faced in the past two years. If my letter offends anyone, I apologize, but I want to warn others about the scams that insurance companies are perpetuating. Stay vigilant and stay healthy.
Thanks & Regards,
Vipin Kumar Sharma
