Denial of Insurance Claims by giving false reasons

Hello! All,


Strongly suggest all of you to refrain from buying mediclaim insurance from Star Health and Allied Insurance Co Ltd. This company is said to be the most genuine company in the are of Insurance domain, however, most of the people have experience worst service from this company. All the awards received by this company seems to be given to them without any investigations.


I have taken a family floater from this company in Nov 2015. In the month of Aug this year, my wife met with an accident and her Meniscus of the right knee is got hurt. Dr tried treating her with medication, but as there was no relief from the pain he suggested to get the Meniscus of the right knee operated.


when I approached Star Health Compnay, they denied my cashless claims stating all possible weird reasons like previous injury was not disclosed etc. The reasons they have provided in the denial letter, are all irrelevant and not to the point. When I personally talked with the specialist Dr, she agreed verbally that the reason they were quoting is not related to the problem for which claims are registered.


The funniest part was, the agent told us to re submit the claims after paying the hospitalization for re imbursement. I asked him what would get changed so that my denied claims would be approved when I ask for reimbursement, he had no answer.


Thus the service of this company is awful. This company is way ahead in reminding us about premium payment but when it comes to settling the claims they are defensive. I have burnt my fingers by buying the mediclaim policy of this company, however, suggest all the wise people here not to jump into the trap of this company any more.


Currently, I have taken some steps to start a legal action against this company.
