Star jalsa aired in the year of 2008 .At that time bengali television was dominated by zee bangla .But within a short span of time it became the most popular tv channel in bengal . Bou kotha kou was the serial which really caught the fancy of the audience at that time .A village girl named mouri entertained the audience by her innocence and witty behabiour . Later came the serial named Ma . A girl abducted in her childhood wants reunion with her mother . It was a soap worth wathing for its emotions , mother’s love for her daughter , pori .But after two or three years it became like all other channels broadcasting sas bahu serials . It could not produce any soap with newer concepts . Some times it shows sports events in bengali commentary for bengali speaking audience .
