STAR- Star of Music Albums

STAR

STAR is one of my all time favourite music albums. It was a big hit in the 80’s. It has evergreen songs and some of them have been remixed . Although the movie was average, but the music was excellent. The music is very catchy indeed. I’ve been listening to it for ages and now even my 5-yr-old daughter sings them too.

The movie was released in 1982. Starring Kumar Gaurav, Rati Agnihotri, Raj Kiran and a guest appearance by Padmini Kolhapuri.. Music was by Biddu and the singers were Zoheb Hassan, Nazia Hassan. Lyrics by Indeevar and Amit Khanna. These are evergreen songs which can be heard everyday and are still fresh in my mind.

1. STAR (3:41)

Title song is sung by Zoheb Hassan. It’s quite a melodious song with nice tunes. Not only the music but even the lyrics is pretty good. The song has some positive vibes attached to it and is full of energy. It can lift up your spirits when you are down. And motivate you to do something great.

Aag ho to dil mein, phir kya mushkil pyare

Chote chote deepak ban jayenge taare

Mera naam

Hai kya mera naam

Bolo bolo bolo

Baar baar

Doge mujhko pyaar

STAR

2. BOOM BOOM (5:16)

The song starts off with good trendy music. Quite fast beats. Then comes the energetic voice of Nazia Hassan who has sung this song in such a great way, that no one could sing it better. The song was such a big hit that even its remix was launched.

Rating: 9/10

Dil mein

Meethi meethi

Machti hai hulchal

Hulchal

Dekho

Tujhko jo hi

Ho jaao paagal

Paagal

Tu kadam rakhe vahan par

Dil mera jhuke vahan par

Mujhse se he mujhe churane vale

Boom Boom

3. JAANA (4:49)

The song starts with a really soothing tune. It’s a romantic duet number and a bit slower than the others. Lyrics is again pretty good. Hearing this song will, take you to a fantasyland of grassy fields where you are romancing with your beloved with hands in hands.

Jaana

Zindagi se na jaana

Pyaar ka yeh fasana

Ruk na jaye kahi

Jaana hum rahenge tumhare

Hain jab tak sitaare

Hain jab tak zameen

4. KHUSHI (4:24)

The song starts with a dialogue by the singer. Then follows a few fast beats which set you in the mood for the best song in the whole album. The thing about this song is that its neither too fast nor too slow. With this song the gal is expressing her love to her boyfriend, with some of the most beautiful lyrics you will ever hear. The lyrics are so good that they will haunt you even after the song is over.

Rating 10/10

Aaj main tumse kehne ja rahi hun

Jo kisi se nahi kaha.

Voh din yaad hai mujhe

Jis din tumko mile

Phool ki tarah, hum khile

5. OOIE OOIE (4:21)

This is one of the fastest tracks of the album. The lyrics are kind of funny & mischievious, and were really popular among the young boys. : In a way the song is describing the effects on a person after he has fallen in love. It’s in the same category as ’’Pehla Nasha’’ from Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, but the only difference is that the beats are faster and lyrics may be not as good as that one. But they both describe the same feeling of falling in love.

Rating : 9/10

Ooie ooie

Chori chori baantein ho

Ooie ooie

Aisi mulakaatein ho

Ooie ooie

Sapno ki baraatein ho

Duniya vale

To yuhi hain

Jalne vale

Hum tumse

Ek do kehne bhi do

Teen chaar ho gaya pyaar

Main to chala

Jaise bahar

6. DHEERE DHEERE (3:40)

The song starts with weird kind of beats. In this song the lover is talking to his heart. A similar kind of song to ’’Yeh Dil Deewana’’ from Pardes, but the only difference was that in that song the mood was gloomy and this song is sung in a merry mood. In Pardes, Shah Rukh Khan was gloomy since his beloved wasnt with him, but in this one it seems that Kumar Gaurav is enjoying his love life to the fullest.

Rating 8/10

Aaye dil mere chal re

Dheere dheere dheere

Tu zara sambhal re

Dheere dheere dheere

Door nahi hai

Pyaar ki manzil

Ek baaki raah

Rukna mushkil

7. KOI NAHIN (4:26)

This song is a solo song sung beautifully by Nazia Hassan. The music is melodious, there is a good use of piano in between . The girl is telling the guy that her heart is just for him and no one else has any right on it, what so ever. Her mornings, her evenings her everything belongs to him now. She has no control over herself now.

Rating 10/10

Yeh dil

Tere liye hai

Yeh jaan

Tere liye

Mere liye

Tere siva

Jaanejahan

Koee na aaye

Koee na aaye

8. ZINDAGI (3:33)

This song depicts the feelings of a friend when he is sings it after his friends death. A kind of sadness adds to the whole environment. And that can be clearly heard in his voice. There are new hopes and new ways in front of him, but can’t travel alone.

Rating 8/10

Yaadon mein khoya

Na jaaga na soya

Unse bichad ke roya

Yeh dukh humara

Yeh sukh humara

Geeton mein maine piroya.

9. MUSKURAYE JA (3:37)

This is a very positive song with an optimistic message. It tries to tell us never to lose hope and keep fighting. The motto of life is to try your best with a smile on your face and thats what this song tries to convey. Lots of pains will come in your life, but we have to fight with them by smiling all the way

Rating 8/10

Teri zindagi mein yu to kayi dard aayenge

Agar muskurayega to dard bhaag jaayenge

Har ghadi hai ek imtihaan
