Star Trek-theMovie Must watch for the True Fan

Somehow this rating has been put under the section of TV serial.. which logically is the right section but has now been adapted to the big screen..will try to shift it to the Movies section if possible...the review below...

Having been a fan and almost a die hard follower of Mr. Spock’s logicaldeductions and Dr. ’Bones’ McCoy’s illogical outbursts, it wasdefinitely - a moving experience - to re-live the characters and theirbeginnings through this tale of where it all began..

Star Trek.. the beginning of the future is an interesting saga of where it all ’mythically and logically’ began.First of all full marks to J J Abrams to bring this adaptation to the big screen after the Star Trek original series big screen adaptations.

the SFX by Industrial Light and Magic surely gave a very realistic spectacle of not just space, but the futuristic look to Earth, with the setting of IOWA in the future, and the planet Vulcan..a wonderful set worth the money..

Watchingthe hypothetical beginnings of James T Kirk, the logically Vulcancommander Mr. Spock and Dr. ’Bones’ McCoy along with the dramaticallypresented appearances of the likes of ("beam me up") Scottie, Chekovand the tactical Mr. Sulu brought an amazing rush of old TV memoriesand a flood of emotions with them...

The story weaves in thecharming Lt. Uhura’s beginnings also, along with tit-bits of Mr.Spock’s human feelings - as half human and in part, his emotions forher...

Pleasantly surprised and completely in awe of the presence ofLeonard Nimoy.. as the Original Mr. Spock of the series, in the movie..

somewherethen I thought I imbibed unintentionally, the mythical personificationof being logic and the essence of logicality from this one character..

waswishing somehow that William Shatner also would have joined the partysomewhere in some form.. off his Boston Legal presence for a change..

Moving and touching for those who have been followers of the original TV series.. and an absolute must watch for them..

for our new generation... maybe the series of movies need to come back onto the big screen again...

much like the George Lucas’ Star Wars Series...

Icould go on and on but I must say that some witty repartee in thedialogues and an intermix of some amazing time travel tales of some keycharacters makes this a must watch to get the grasp of where and how itREALLY all began.. the TV tales of the "Voyages of StarShipEnterprise.."

the last shot - with the USS E departing on it’s missions into space with Leonard Nimoy’s closing narrative - ***"Space the final frontier... these are the voyages of the StarShip enterprise... " ***connectedme back to the unforgettable and immortal Captain James T Kirk’sopening narrative in the original TV series... the series used to beginwith these same lines...

  • enough to give me goosebumps..

Allinall, a must watch - ON THE BIG SCREEN - for those who have grown upwith TV version of the Star Trek USSEnterprise visits every Sundaymorning on good ’ol Doordarshan of the80s..

And for the latergenerations.. if you can fathom the feelings of sense of awe and a senseof deja-vu of the good old times..if you have heard from your parentsand or grandparents the tales of this TV series.. you could gift them ashow to re-live their wonderful moments of the good old times when SpaceTravel per se was just a figment of one’s imagination and Hollywood putthis figment of imagination through a test of reality through theadaptation of Gene Roddenbury’s Star Trek on TV.

how logicallyhas the past of a past, been brought back into the present to take oneback into the past of it’s future... which eventually was in thepast...

made me wonder if those good old times will ever come back

Hollywood sure has a ’magical’ and logical way to touch the inner beings..

Maythe souls of the characters of this wonderful series who have passedaway with the glory of STAR TREK with them.... rest at peace
