Without giving away anything, the writers of this movie did a great job of creating an entirely new franchise using the same characters, but giving them personalities that are different from and far deeper than anything seen by Shatner’s original crew. Although I was always more of a fan of Star Trek TNG than the original, I love that they created this new assortment of personalities such that fans of the original shouldn’t be upset at all. Plot is probably only a 4-star if you discount this aspect of the writing. Love the characters, love the CGI and love the possibilities for the future movies. Only downside: When I look at Spock(Zachary Quinto) I keep waiting for him to go crazy and start killing peple. Lol . A big change of pace for the actor from Heroes, but honestly, he does a great job.
