Looking at this film objectively-without adding an explanation for that opening as it would include a spoiler-I can say that Star Wars: The Force Awakens was an excellent revival of a dormant series. Was it perfect? No.
But it had a good amount of action, good performances, and an excellent score that seamlessly blended in with the much admired and loved score of the original Star Wars film series. Abrams respected every character and plot association with the film’s predecessors. I hope that the upcoming Star Wars releases will surpass this installment.
