In my opinion the Force Awakens is a very bad movie.
How bad? In terms of movies in general I would say it is almost exactly as bad as Star Trek into Darkness(J J Abrams previous outing), but maybe not so bad as Transformers: Age of Extinction. If you think that both of those movies were good, the rest of this answer is not for you.
In terms of Star Wars movies I would say that the Force Awakens is worse than the Phantom Menace, but not so bad as Attack of the Clones. About the same bad as Revenge of the Sith. I rate all of the originals as five stars.
For me, watching the prequels was like reuniting with a childhood sweetheart, only to discover that you no longer had anything in common with them, and that they had started to wear really embarrassing clothes.
Watching The Force Awakens was like discovering that your childhood sweetheart has married a rich stupid, and is unable to talk about anything other than how pretty they were in high school.
I think the latter is worse. I know many people’s minds will be blown by the suggestion that Ep7 is worse than Ep1, but I have my reasons, I think they stack up. And I’m not alone.
