Star Wars : A lot of it

Star Wars The Last Jedi has a kind of scattered script with no stakes on itself at the end, hence takes away the much needed momentum from the film. If compared to its previous installments, The Last Jedi is an okay type of movie, it’s actually its Star Wars Episode II with much of a modified script and and presented in a better way, with some changes.

I spent the first half of the’Last Jedi’ thinking the how much it copies from empire strikes back, and the later half by being amazed about how much this tops it. The new characters of the movie are established in pace with the Star Wars myths and the central plot of the movie is the most gripping arcs ever in the saga.

The clash of emotions and ideals somehow manages to be both, intimate and epic, exploring and challenging the very founding principles of Star Wars myth.

Rian Johnson did flip everything upside down in the franchise, which I personally has never dared to wish for in a Star Wars movie. Every character had something to do in the movie and every character learns something about themselves, like what they are willing to keep in stake to win the war. Nuff said! Kylo Ren is the best villain in Star Wars for me. That being said, let’s talk about, where the film didn’t work. Number one, it’s a two and half hour long movie, with full of small plots that aren’t easy to follow, sometimes more often things happened too quickly too make moments feel as they actually mattered, The movie is long and way too slow, that it constantly prompts you to hit the restroom.

Even though, there are much which happened in the movie, I feel from a story point of view, it doesn’t takes the saga forward, nothing changes, no big secrets are revealed and the stakes are never raised for the next installment. The movie needed to have more streamlined storyline with a drive. Could have been better.

Fun Fact: " If you could had a dollar for everytime the word "hope" was used in the film, you would have returned home with a least 100 dollars in your pocket, a least 100 dollar, "

Bottom line, if you’re a Star Wars fan you will like it and understand what ever is going in it, but if you’re not, and this comes out to be your first star wars movie, you won’t understand a bit.
