Stardust the name itself implies something. I have been addicted to Stardust from the word go. I always make it a point to buy stardust every month. Why am I addicted? Just like all the million of people, I have a favourite actor :arjun rampal and fav actress: sush/Bips....So since I know I can never meet my idols in person , and stardust is where I find something about my idols.
Many indians are crazy about movies and always hunger for any kind of news about their fav actors. Since they know that they can never in a million years meet them, they are satisfied with finding titbits in Stardust.
In my case I love to read particular sections such as neetas natter, celeb interviews and mostly I like to look at glossy pictures, to admire beauty.
Everytime I see Bips or ARjun on the front page , im just compelled to buy the edition.
The book is also entertaining and a way of timepass.
But the sad thing, whatever we read , we believe it to be true and are influenced by it.Media has such a powerful influence on the masses, it can either bring up an actor or pull him down , such is the power of the press.
Such is the case of Salman Khan. Ever since he made a mistake of physically assulting a journalist, its like the all the journalists have teamed up and decided to blacken him. Every article written about him is degrading.
Famous one being the time salman had gone to ash’s apartment and she would not open the door, and he baged the doors till his hands started bleeding. Or the time he almost assaulted Rishi kapoor’s son because he happend to comment on a dancers looks resembling Ash.....
Raveena having an affair with John Abraham just because she was seen with him on two occasions, that too in a group.....
I feel these are cheap gimmicks to sell the magazines at the cost of ruining the lives of actors/actresses.
I do feel sorry for them as I believe every person as the right to privacy. But actors because they r always in the limelight , have to act, behave and dress in a certain manner and most of the times cannot be themselves.
Stardust should always strive to publish what is facts and truth.
