Sate Bank Of India is the multi national bank of India. It has so many branches across the India. ATM are available at most of the locations throughout the India. I am having saving bank account in State Bank Of India, Ved road branch, Surat since 2004.
I am using Internet banking services since 2010. Due to Internet Banking facility, it is very easy for me to operate my account with State Bank Of India. With Internet Banking facility, I can check my account details, View transaction details, money transfer, Cheque book request. All these you can do at your own time without going to bank. You can also manage your bills and do payments like Electricity bill payment and Gas bill payment. You can download or view bank statement for any duration you want. It is also having phone banking services. You will get message of all transaction done. You can get mini statement through phone banking.
It is having Multi Option Deposit(MOD) facility. In which particular amount will be converted into fixed deposit on 1st of every month, if you have much balance in your account. You will get more interest than saving account with this MOD. Meanwhile if you require money then you can use this amount without breaking the whole MOD.
Recently I have taken a car loan from State Bank Of India, Katargam branch. I had very good experience with SBI during this. Bank manager was staying till 7 pm for my loan procedure as I used to come from office after 06:30 pm only. Loan procedure was done very smoothly and it was completed only in my two vivits to that particular branch. My loan account has been merged with my saving bank account. Due to this I can transfer additional loan amount other than my regular premium at any time in loan account.
They have installed cash deposit machines also. So that you can deposit cash and also your pass book get printed through that machine. Also it has drop box to receive cheques. You have to put cheques in drop box and it will get cleared within 24 hours.
I had few bad experiences also. When you have to go to the bank personally, you will find the bank full of crowd all the times. So there will be poor response from staff if you want to inquire something. Once I had to open new bank account for my sister but form was not available. I got reply from staff that, you will get whenever it will come and also they were not accepting forms downloaded from internet.
After all, it is providing very good services but it should be more user friendly in terms of customer response.
