Am forced to write this review after three experiences with their service. First I gave my bike (stunner) for a regular paid service in June. by the said time itself, they called me n said we need to replace so and so things, n totally it will cost 4000 something. I removed a few items from their list and wound up the svc at 1800. th bike was delivered on time.
Next, ma friend gave his unicorn there in august. sterling people called him N SAID THE SAME REPLACEMENTS THAT HE TOLD ME TWO MONTHS BACK. n he cancelled 1 or 2 from the list n wrapped it at 5000 something. I think they say the same replacements to everyone. In the past 3.5 yrs, we have serviced the same bikes at different showrooms at Chennai, Bangalore n Pune. We never had such a humongous bill.
NW, THE 3RD EXPERIENCE
my stunner recently had an accident in Sept. I gave it to sterling Honda, n applied for insurance claim. first they gave an estimate of Rs.12652. I cancelled a few items (which dint need replacement) n the bill came down to 2500. among suggested items, there was clutch box cover for which they said I will have to wait. After one week I went there, they hadn’t even ordered the thing. aft two weeks I went there, they said they had ordered, but dint get it. Aft third week, I went there n they said they haven’t got the product yet. n that person was yelling at me showing a list which showed people were waiting for more than 6 weeks to get their bike. A shop called Ruby Sales (Pune) had the said product. But sterling people were not ready to take it from there.
So, FINALLY I HAD TO TAKE MY BIKE FROM THERE AFTER THREE WEEKS. THEY HADNT EVEN TOUCHED THE BIKE DURING THIS TIME. THEY JUST REPLACED THE HANDLE BAR ON LAST DAY, N FOR THAT, THEY CHARGED Rs. 500 (300 rs for handle bar + 200 rs svc charge). Be very careful when u give your bike there with some accident claim.
I forgot to mention one thing. APART FROM THE USUAL SERVICE CHARGE, THEY HAVE SERVICE CHARGES SPECIFICALLY FOR CERTAIN REPLACEMENTS. They would be the only people who take separate service charges for each part. those charges are in the range 200-500.
Please note the following when u give for servicing at Sterling Honda.
1) The bill would be too high
2) They never consider repairing something, they just say replace
3) THEY WILL SUGGEST REPLACEMENT OF FORK, OIL SEAL, BEARING, n some other things (i dnt remember. They suggested all those things to both me n ma friend)
4) You are free to cancel something from the list they suggest you. They wont say anything against that.
5) Apart from the total service charge, they will levy separate service charge for certain replacements.
6) A good thing - they dont take petrol from your bike. your petrol level will be the same b4 svc n aft svc
IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION, PLEASE GO WITH THAT. I WILL NEVER EVER SUGGEST STERLING HONDA TO YOU.
