A good & flawless outing!

The most successful Danish band made their debut way back in Sep 1991. The name suggests rock but they belong to the Pop genre often called as soft pop because most of their songs are slow paces mushy numbers.

Bryan Adams, John Bonjovi, Elton John amongst others have deep music and every songs have power lyrics; same goes with MLTR and you would not like to skip a single track once it start playing. The band comprises of drummer Kare Wanscher, the singer and keyboard player Jascha Richter (the eldest of three) and guitarist Mikkel Lentz.

The hit which changed their fortune is The Actor followed by the Sleeping Child from the second album. Then arrived 25 Minutes and Out of the blue which created sensation. In the year 2000 their bass guitarist Saren Madsen left them to seek his own fortune.

This album we are talking about i.e Strange Foreign Beauty was released May 10, 1999 in South East Asia and Japan. The Japanese version also contains the tracks: Wild Women and Something Right

01. Strange Foreign Beauty ****

One of the slowest tracks of MLTR gives you an illusion of walking behind a beautiful sultry woman on a beach while the sun sets in the background. Jascha Ricter excels when it comes to singing and I believe he has a great voice like Bryan Adam or Savage Garden. MLTR justify their continued presence in the big league with the Strange Foreign Beauty track.

02. Sleeping Child (special remix) **

Well you cant make a remix of such a melodious track in that way. Thats simply throwing the charm away. Seems like a selling gimmic but still this track from album Colours has its beauty in the lyrics which remains untouched. But my question is why on earth to try a remix version as it turns out to be highly trendy and breaks the pleasure of an already hit number.

03. The Actor *****

The song begins on a smashing note as and you can say all the acoustic guitar lovers will love this track which has some youthful, fresh https://lyrics.

I’m not an actor I’m not a star

and I don’t even have my own car

But I’m hoping so much you’ll stay

that you will love me anyway

04. Complicated Heart ***

Jascha get the groove going with title as Complicated heart but song with plain and simple https://lyrics.

Even if you want to go alone

I will be waiting when you’re coming home

if you need someone to ease the pain

you can lean on me, my love will still remain

05. I’m Gonna be Around *****

The wait was over with this smash hit romantic & poetic song. This song has been well worded and is a winner amongst light & romantic lovers. It has got a distinct shade which shows how MLTR have changed themselves after all these years. This is undoubtedly one of the best tracks from the band. Trust me, with those simple accent and simple lyrics you actually start humming it along while it is played for the first few times. Great chorus inclusions here and a master guitar piece. I like the following words sung together by Jascha Richter, Oli Poulsen & Ashley Mulford

Catch you when you fall

Hold you when you’re down

Sharing every moment

I wanna show you all I do

I believe I’ve found a miracle in you

06. Something You Should Know ***

This one may not be unique one or a song that would break new grounds but anyway its worth listening as it has mindblowing https://lyrics.

Drifting back to a time gone by

she was in my life

Now I’m watching her from my car

Someone bought her rollerskates

God am I too late?

Did somebody else take my place?

07. That’s Why (you go away) *****

A tragic scene is what you imagine on listening to these touch words with ear friendly musical arrangements will just run in your brain and then flow to the heart from the veins. 5 stars on the singing capability in terms of class & quality because the song rises all of sudden ’i wont forget the way...’

08. Forever And A Day ***

The funk of this song lies in the lyrics and the singing capabilities of Jascha Richter & Ashley Mulford.

When I walk alone

through an empty home

I just can’t stop thinking of you

do you feel the pain

Could it be the same

are you missing me too

09. Someday *****

This song moves at a slow pace but it is a good fusion of rock and pop. This is the song that comes to you like a cool breeze and it slowly converges into the world of melody.

Someday someway

together we will be baby

I will take and you will take your time

We’ll wait for our fate

cos’ nobody owns us baby

We can shake we can shake the rock

10. Breaking my Heart *****

It escalates slowly and gradually after it has begun on a near silent note and all you get a track for broken hearts. Just read on....these touchy words.

I’m on the floor

counting one minute more

Noone to break the silence

Staring into the night

all alone but that’s alright

It’s the feeling deep inside I don’t like

Chorus:

There is no excuse my friend

for breaking my heart

breaking my heart again

11. I’m Gonna Come Back ***

Jascha and Ashley rocks! Great chemistry shown in this track. Inspite a soulful song on a war theme it remains firmly rooted to melody.

I’m gonna come back when the war is over

when you’re ready to make amends

Fill up the cracks and find the pieces

then put them all back again

I’m turning my back as the walls are falling

staying away till the dust is gone

I’m under attack and a voice is calling

better stay away something’s wrong

12. Nothing To Lose ****

This song that has an reflective edge to it. Its the title track of the album Nothing to lose released in 1998. Sweet-n-simple lyrics: -

Nothing to lose

your love to win

hoping so bad that you’ll let me in

I’m at your feet

waiting for you

I’ve got time and nothing to lose

13. Romantic Balcony ***

Good use of guitar here! Worth a hear for the https://lyrics.

But a pain inside my chest

wakes me up

The truth is slowly spreading on the

smokey battlefield

I am bleeding from my heart and I...

I feel so tired

I guess I have to rest for a while

14. Sleeping Child *****

This brings the album to a lively closure. What a great chapter to close the book! Surely a winning score from a winning team and MLTR is reliable for these kinda mellow tunes. Grab a copy if you havent heard this track.

If you are Bryan Adams, Savage Garden, Boyzone lover add this album to your piling up collection of meaningful songs.
