I recently bought a strontium 16 GB OTG drive from amazon. It came with warranty. Right from the day 1, it used to get heated a lot when I was using it with my phone. Also while transferring data to and from the laptop, the speed was very low. While using with phone it used to become so hot that I could not touch it.
Then one day while using it, OTG stopped working. The small usb portion which used to connect to phone is not working anymore. But the larger USB portion is working. So now, I can use it as a normal USB drive of 16 GB capacity but extremely low speed but the purpose for which I bought it, is not applicable anymore. I cannot use it with my phone. I called amazon because the product was under warranty and they said they cannot replace it and I need to take it to a service center. Now there is one service center in Nehru place. Reaching there takes 3 hours for me. And the process is, first I will go there to submit the OTG, then I will have to go back again to collect the new part IF it is replaced. IF. replacement is not sure. So that means for a 450 Rs OTG drive, I will spend 150 Rs on transport and 12 hours in travelling just for mere chances of getting it replaced. This is downright stupid.
I didn’t like the Strontium OTG at all. Worst product ever. Please don’t buy it.
