Can you imagine going off to school one day in anticipation of the brother that your Mom and dad are going to bring home for you. You sit all day wondering: What will he look like? Will he like me? What will I say when I get there? Thinking about school is next to impossible because all you can do is imagine all the fun the two of you will have when you get home. Finally it is time, you run from the bus only to find that your new brother is a mouse. Ah, the disappointment.
That is exactly what happened to George. Mom and dad Littles set out to adopt him a little brother, only to fall in love with Stuart (a mouse). They bring him home and the adventures begin. The family cat, (Snowball), is not at all excited or happy about being a pet to a mouse. What if the other cats find out?
George thinks everyone has gone plum crazy. The Littles have a welcoming party for
Stuart and invite all the Little family. They bring gifts fitting for a little boy. (Bikes, balls, etc.) Does nobody see that this is a mouse?
The inevitable finally happens and Snowballs friends find out about Stuart. This just cannot happen and they begin to plot on how to get rid of him. Knowing that Stuart has an empty spot inside for his real family, the arrange for another mouse couple to play that role. They will lure Stuart from the Little house and then they will get him.
While this plot is beginning to unfold, George and Stuart become close and acting as if the were brothers. Stuart helps George win an all important boat race and the two really begin to bond. The Littles are finally a family--or are they?
The cats plan does unfold and Stuart leaves the Littles to be with his real family. He still has his empty place and does not understand. The mouse couple finally comes clean and tells Stuart that they are not really his parents. They send him off to look for the Littles. After many skirmishes with the cats and with the help of Snowball, Stuart finds his way home. This time, and at last, the Littles really are a family!
My children just love this movie. It brings them hours of entertainment and many many laughs
