Apples for the whole family!

My son has fine hair and finding a shampoo that will work for his hair has not been easy. We have tried the baby shampoos and they will leave his hair feeling heavy and looking flat. The adult’s shampoos don’t work for him either for the same reasons. Can’t use just plain soap because that is not good for his hair. (It really amazes me the difference in all of our chemicals in our bodies, for instance, what might work for me, may not work for him or my daughter!) One of the brands we have been able to use for him is the Suave® products.

One day in the local Winn Dixie they had all the Suave® shampoo and conditioners on sale for .97. So I picked up the Apple scent to try on my son. Since he liked eating apples I hoped that he would like the smell. He did.

The first time he used it I reminded him that it would burn if it got into his eyes and he had to be careful. ’’I will mama, don’t I always!’’ ’’Yes son, you do try to be really careful about things, but listen to mama about this, shampoo of any kind will burn if it gets into your eyes.’’ ’’Go away mama I am taking my shower now.’’ (Lol the little stinker, at 7 he thinks he is so BIG!)

When it got time for him to wash his hair he called me back into the bathroom. He needed a little help with the bottle of shampoo because the lid was new and a little hard for him to use at first. (You know sometimes they are a little stuck and a bigger hand has to help out.) My son is a pro at using the shampoo now!

I helped him wash his hair this first night because I wanted to see if the shampoo lathered well. It did. And all rinsed out as well. The smell is of real apples, which surprised me. Sometimes when you buy products the smell is not always the same when you actually use it as opposed to smelling it from the container.

When I combed through my son’s hair that night, and the nights since, there has been no tangle’s in his hair. When he wakes the next morning his hair is soft and smells clean, and like apples.

The next time I took a shower I thought I would try the Suave® Apple Shampoo. I was really surprised on just how well the product did lather. My hair is very thick and has natural curl, but I only used a small portion of the shampoo for my hair. The more I scrubbed my hair the more the shampoo lathered. And when I rinsed my hair all the shampoo came out. My hair was left soft, manageable and shiny. I liked this shampoo!

I have to say this here though, my hair will dry out with long uses of any shampoo, and so I have to use several different brands in my hair. (As soon as I can find a place for those, I will write about them, right now there is no place.)

The Bottle

The bottle I got is clear plastic and is 15 fl. oz. (444ml) and the cap is blue and is one of those that you press down on the top to open. The shampoo is green and there is an apple on the front of the bottle. Gentle cleansing and refreshing aroma for all hair types.

Essence of Apple leaves your hair with a fresh, clean scent. Mild Ingredients will make it ideal for the whole family. pH Balanced Formula, is gentle enough for everyday use.

The bottle coded (1) for recycling, please check your area for recycling availability. The product is also Biodegradable formula.

Directions

To use: Wet hair, lather, rinse and repeat. For best results, use with Suave® Apple Conditioner. To achieve your favorite style, use Suave® mousse or gel and finish with Suave® hairspray.

Ingredients

Like I always say here in this part of any review I do that contains ingredients, you should take the time to read them before buying the product because of allergies. But I will type them here for you to read as well.

They are as follows:

“Water (Aqua), Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamide MEA, Ammonium Chloride, Ammonium Xylenesulfonate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Benzophenone-4, Citric Acid, Fragrance (Parfum), Methylchloroiosothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, FD&C Yellow No. 5 (Cl 19140), FD&C Blue No. 1 (Cl 42090).”

The Cost

I paid .97 cents for the bottle I got. The price does vary from store to store, for instance you can get the Suave® Shampoos for as low as .88 cents at Wal-Mart and as much as $1.19 at discount drug stores. So shop around for the best price. A lot of times you can find a local coupon to use and get the product for less.

If you are looking for a great shampoo, for an expensive price look at the Suave® Shampoo and Conditioners. The price is right and the product is good.

I like the softness and the fact that both my son and my hair shine’s after each use. (I have to use a conditioner and will write about that later), I also like being able to brush my hair without tangles.

I hope that this has helped in some kind of way.

God Bless!
