I have to confess that I buy Suave shampoo on a regular basis; mostly when the other brands are way too expensive. Suave is not my favorite shampoo, and my children do not like it much either.
The scent is okay, and it works well enough I suppose. Unfortunately when we have used this brand I have noticed a lot of build up in the hair, and none of our hair is as shiny as it is with other brands.
Another downside to this brand is that we have to use a lot more of it to get the hair as clean. This translates into washing the hair twice or sometimes even three times, which essentially means that even though price-wise Suave is a good deal, it doesn’t last nearly as long nor perform nearly as well as other brands.
Suave conditioner also leaves build-up, and I have found that we have to use a very large amount to get adequate conditioning. If a small amount is used, the hair is so full of tangles that in my opinion I might as well have not used a conditioner at all.
I can’t recommend Suave shampoo or conditioner, unless you have children who go through shampoo in a ridiculously short amount of time anyway. Otherwise, it is more cost-effective and better on the hair to lean towards a more effective brand.
