all I did was to consult my tuts teacher he is from iit-bombay
this I wat he told me:-
always keep in mind u hve to go in iit.
u cn n u will do it.
u may b compiting among 4 lakhs but u r one in half a million.
utilise these 18 months d best u cn.
study for 4 -5 hours intitially.
if u study for 8-10 hours now u wont b able to keep the momentum after 5 or 5 months
its better to study a bit rite now so that u can understand the patern and get used to the difficulty level of iit.
dont go for solving iit sums initially.
try n get advice from those who hve made it.
dont listen to ur frunds who says u cant.
only u know wat is ur potential.
moreover u cn always hve sunday reserved to go vth frunds for a movie or two.
but never skip setions of study.
prepare a time table, its better to consult other before u set it.
follow it strictly.
know ur weak subject and ur strong subjects.
he also gave us tips on how to write the paper so that v cn get max marks in three hours.
set a time limit of 50 mins rather than 1 hour for each paper.
v hve three subject maths physics n chem.
divide ur subject into strong weak and weakerst subject.
do the weaker subject at first.
than chose the weakest .
in the end choose ur strongest subject.
if u follow the time limit u will hve more time for ur strongest subjects and to analyse paper.
leave a long question even though u know u cn do it.
never guess in papers
never panic.
u will get used to all this things if u solve papers regularly
dont chage ur patern imidiatly bt gradually.
initially it may be diff to follow points vch I told bt then it will be ur habit after 6-7 tests.
DONT BE AFRAID OF FAILURES
my sir used to get 10% marks in his tutions test for iit but still he cleared it vth gud AIR
it not impossible.
iit mins dedication efiiciency hard but smart work.
n yea NEVER NEVER NEVER GIV UP
remember
victory belong not
to most powerful or most intelligent
but it belongs to
one who thinks he can
