I bought Sun direct DTH service provider in 2009 as it is very cheap than any other. But then all the problem started. In the ad they gave it will be installed for free of cost but then they charged me around 2000 for cable as the antenna is fixed on 4th floor and I am in ground floor.
The set top box was working fine for few months. After some time they sent message that the antenna has to be adjusted to some other frequency and the service people will do it for free of cost. I thought it was fine anyway as it is free of cost. But no body came and one day all the channels went off and only few channels were coming. I kept on calling the customer care but nothing happened. For almost 2 months we watched only few channels and that to only sun network channels. Then I checked in the internet and took all the mail id’s related to sun network and wrote a big mail about their worst service. In two three days one guy called me and told his service person will come and fix it on the same day. They came and fixed it on the same day. But then again the problem started. While changing the antenna they have to use some device to check the receiving signal strength but they didn’t do anything like that. Simply they changed the antenna direction and left. If anyone get call to our mobile or if we call from our mobile, then the TV won’t work. Even for small wind or rain it wont work. The problem continued.
Then we shifted to Kochi and there new issues followed. I called for service person to fix the antenna. He told that dish antenna shape is in oval but for Kerala it should be in round shape so that it can receive the signal better. Also he told the receiver became old and I need to change. I paid around 1700 for both. When he fixed he checked the frequency strength with a device. That time only I came to know about that device. I was afraid as there will be more rain in Kochi. But he said the antenna is working fine so no need to worry. Only for heavy rain it wont work.
So now there was no problem with the relay and it was going good for few days. Then the problem came with remote. The remote was not working and when I contact the dealer he told only duplicates are available for 100 Rs and Sundirect remote is 250. I bought one sun direct remote for 150 when I was in Bangalore. But he said it is 250 in Kochi. so I bought that for 250.
After all these problems I realized that I paid more and I am not getting few channels like "Thalaimurai News" and discovery Tamil etc. One fine day I said good bye to Sun Direct the cheapest service provider really.
