Whenever a person spends some money, it is his desire that he gets the complete value of the money he spent. But that’s not the case with SUN Direct. It is the poorest and worst DTH Operator in India. I purchased SUN Direct cable two years ago and since then I have been facing problems which led me to mention its negative points so that other people can choose wisely when they buy new DTH service.
When SUN Direct was launched, its price was very low but after six months, they changed their satellite and the number of channels reduced drastically. There are around 35 important tv channels that SUN Direct does not have like Z News, E 24, &tv etc. Its monthly recharge plan is the most expensive when we compare it with other operators such as Tata Sky, Airtel Tv etc. Its picture quality is very poor and the resolution is very low. You will get the impression as if you are watching the local cable TV. The most disheartening thing is the number of channels. Spending 300 rupees per month and still not getting even 25 good channels is not a very good thing. It contains some useless regional language channels which nobody watches and the channels that should have been are not there.
Mentioning some other bad features such; you can not select individual channels that you wish to include like in other DTH operators. It does not provide extra services like movies on demand, active learning, active cooking etc. It takes five minutes to start and then the remote is locked for 1 minute. There are only 12 HD Tv channels in SUN Direct and their price is very high. The customer service of SUN Direct is very poor and their action time is very late and ineffective. To the top, you will not find service centres of sun direct in small cities and towns, so once if you face any problem it is going to take one week to resolve the issue which will waste your money.
So, readers, it is my opinion that please never buy this DTH Operator. This is a complete waste of money and its service quality is very poor.
