I remember when Fuels first single off of this album, Sunburn, called Shimmer came out in 1998. It quickly got my attention. What grabbed me was the beat and Brett Scallions voice. It starts off with Brett singing with a guitar playing in the background, then comes in a violin, after a few seconds follows in the drums and bass, then kicks up faster. It has a little pop sound but more alternative. The song that I really got into though was Bittersweet. More rocking and faster than Shimmer. The next single, Sunburn, slows it down some, with some good lyrics, definitely one of my favorites off the album.
The songs that were not singles are almost better than the singles. Every song is worth at least a listen to. Its very hard to pick a favorite too. All of the songs are very well written and performed on this album. There even better listening to in concert.
New Thing has some really cool guitar mixed in with a nice, fast, rocking beat. You can almost dance to it. A really catchy tune.
Mary Pretends also has some great guitar riffs with a fast beat then slows down a few times, then picks up the pace again, overall a fast song.
Ozone is probably my current favorite song off the album. It has a heavier side to it than the other songs, with some heavier guitar riffs and I just love the drums in this tune. Its very catchy tune with some cool https://lyrics.

Definitely a great album to pick up. An incredible mix of pop and rock. Brett has got an amazing voice and Carl Bell, the guitarist, is so talented with the guitar on the album. All of the songs on Sunburn fit so well together. Also check out their other album, Something Like Human, another very good album to listen to. If you like Creed, Finger Eleven, or youre just looking for some good, healthy rock, Fuels the band you should check out.
