Sunny Deol.....the name needs no formal introduction.... A generation has grown watching him....People’s actor.....a good man who knows his limits....!!
Sunny has been often rated as a Action star and I will strongly offer my disagreement to that...then people will say havn’t you seen Ghatak, Ghayal, Arjun, Gadar, Hero n all...then I will ask them to rate the proportion of action vs acting(from Sunny’s side) in these movies. Shouting dialogues in breathtaking speed n volume is not what I call action.
Sunny started in Betaab and was not perfect for the kind of roles like that was. Then came all those wonderful movies like Dacait, Joshiley(Lovely ..!!), Arjun, Ghatak, Ghayal, Damini. He realised the potential in these kind of movies and so does his directors n producers. Joshiley is important to mention here because there he got stiff competition from Anil kapoor who himself was settling himself at that time.....we can see that reflected in acting of both the star’s.
Ghatak I will say is a Gem for Bollywood, Sunny, Raj Kumar Santoshi and all those fans. It is not a story of common man’s struggle against the corrupted system but also it reflects the strong Father-son relationship, the ever debating Brother-brother relation, the emotional love relation and family value’s. I will die but will not Forget the dialogue’s like ’’Zameen Maa hoti hai maa .. aur use becha nahi jaata’’, ’’Krodh ko paalna sikho’’ and ’’aise hathiyar bazaar me bahut milte hai par inhe chalane ka jigar duniya ke kisi bazaar me nahi milta’’ goodness me ...that was out of world stuff which one can create only once...... but sunny did it again n again in movies like Ghayal, Damini n Gadar.
His Screen presence is so strong that even if he came after interval he can pull the movie on his own. See Damini....he s not the main lead but after break people will always relate Damini to Sunny’s performance. The ultimate scene came in court and was one of the best till date..!!
He tried his hand in some light role’s as well n came out good....roles in Dillagi, Farz were not heavy duty but sunny was again impeccable. He doesn’t know the style when it comes to Romantic roles but again he is so natural in those that one will love to watch it again and again....for a example of this watch Gadar.
Sunny is not a good dancer and no more thought’s on this. He is a complete actor.
A certain saturation do has came in his career but he has a lot to cherish about.
