I am totally surprised that there is no review of this year’s blockbuster movie here.
This can easily be rated as one of the best teenage flicks in recent times, almost in the same genre of American Pie,
and from the creators of knocked UP(another great movie for which I dont find
a review here) etc.
I thought I had grown out of this genre of movies, but this really reminded me of my college days.
This is a movie, which evokes two extreme opinions, either you would love it or grossly hate it.
Considering this being a perverted demented teenage sex comedy, dont expect a solid storyline .It is out and out, off the
wall comedy revolving around the lives of 3 awkward sex-obsessed virgin teenagers, who are desperate to impress chicks and get laid.So as expected the movies
revolves around body anatomies, blow-j’s, booze and sex.There is also a subtle message at the end about friendship, bonding and
priorities in life, but it gets lost among the twisted humour.
The language is extremely crass(but spot on)& if one were to buzz off the "F" & other slang words, then there would hardly be any sentences left out in the movie.
So as I said earlier, some maybe deeply offended by the language and find it disgusting(I persoanlly cringed couple of times at some of the scenes,
especially at some of the graphic drawings and dialogues), but if one were to evesdrop the conversation among
teenage college going students especially guys(I cant vouch for girls here, sorry!), I am sure it would be on similar lines, be it in india or US.
Afterall I havent come across a teenage college guy who is not crazed about porn and getting laid.
This movie is just a reflection of that in a comic sense.
There is always a fine line distingusing a great natural comedy from an outright irritatingly dumb one which looks quite forced .
It all depends upon the solid script and credible acting & this movie has got all of them just spot on.Jonah Hill as Seth, is a total wacko
and is the co-conspirator along with Micheal Cera who really rock, with his cool innocent looks.The real dude is the third musketter Mr Mclovin.
There is enough scope to accomodate all the three guys to play a prominent role in this movie, which is usually very rare
and they have played it brilliantly .
I dont wont to provide any more spoilers here.Infact there is nothing much to give out on the storyline, it is mainly the comedic punchlines which fully succeds in
its attempt to create juvenile humor.
The only thing that was stretched a wee bit too far was that of 2 police officers at the end .It was quite unnecesary in my view.
The dialogues and one liners are so funny, it had me rolling and I could not really catch all of the laugh-a-minute comedy in my first viewing.
In all it is a cute dirty relentenlessly entertaining film, which you will either love it or hate it.so give it a try.Definitely not a healthy entertainment movies
to be watched along with your family.
The movie soundtrack is quite funky too, if you care to lend you ear to it amidst all the chaos.
