I have always been a fan of watching superhero movies right from my childhood. And this movie is also one of them. Directed by James Gunn, the movie has a unique charm, which separates it from other Superman movies. It explores the unique theme of global citizenship, kindness, and the duality of Superman’s existence both as an alien and an adopted Earthling.
David Corenswet, the lead character and Superman of the movie, has done a remarkable acting. His performance revitalizes the character of a modern audience, and with the greatness of balancing comic book authenticity, heartfelt acting, and a nod to Supermans cinematic legacy.
The maker has wonderfully portrayed Supermans vulnerability and emotional struggle, highlighting his capacity for both great strength and deep empathy, especially Supermans status as an alien immigrant, which shows the theme of belonging and the challenges of navigating different cultures and perspectives.
Apart from the lead character, other characters, including Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, and other members of the DC universes interaction with superheroes, are central to the plot.
Unlike other superhero movies, this one also focuses on character development and relationships, using special effects to enhance the story, which has really worked well. Especially the fighting scenes and emotional scenes. I still remember the scene of Jonathan dying of a heart attack, and Lois Lane’s death when Superman failed to save her was too emotional, and her scream was loud and so powerful.
The soundtrack offers a blend of classic and modern elements, including John Williamss iconic Superman theme, which is deeply connected to the characters and their emotional arc. Some of my favourite tracks are Home, Last Son, and The Daily Planet.
Lastly, the movie is quite good and engaging, similar to the other Superman movies. It is packed with fun, drama, emotion, and action to keep the viewers engaged throughout the movie, especially those Superman movie fans. Gunns approach to making the most successful Superman movie has no doubt met expectations. It has everything that an audience expects. Personally, I enjoyed the movie a lot; it is worth watching.
