We are of the generation that practically grew up on Superman. I remember the Superman outfits and for some it was a towel tied on your back and jumping from beds. Some even tried wearing their undies outside.
I remember one particular comment " There are Superheroes, and there is Superman". Superman was one who had no equal. He could stop bullets with Rays coming out of his eyes or lie down on the train tracks to save people.
When we went to see Superman, it was with almost a childlike enthusiasm. But was really dissapointed with the outcome. It has become a trend to make movies with a romantic angle. Look at Titanic & Pearl Harbour. One thing we dont expect is Superman prancing around trees and singing songs like our Bollywood heroes. Thankinfully it didnt stoop to that level but was almost as bad.
The one part which was in the superman mould was stopping the bank robery and the bullets flying off his chest.
I have no complaints about casts as Christopher Reeve to us is Superman and we cant expect to change that attitude.
Amazing graphics is the only plus point of the movie.
I wont say I wont recomend this movie as like me any Superman buff, should watch it. Dissapointing or not..
