Surf is one of the front-running detergent brand in India and even in the world for many years. UniLever and their Indian subsidiary do invest sizeable funds in research to maintain the lead in detergent. Consumers can therefore be assured of good product backed up by continuous research.
Surf has supporting brands like ’’Surf-Ultra’’, ’’Surf-Matic’’ etc. depending on the specific needs of the consumers. I would definitely endorse Surf for quality, safety of clothes, reduced risk of reaction on human skin. The main brand Surf, is ideally suited for hand wash and still gives good results. I have tested Surf-matic for washing in machine and found it quite satisfactory.
On the flip side, the consumer has to shell out more money for their product owing to the high advertisement expenses of the manufacturer (remember Lalitaji and her high decibel level campaign in the TV screens in previous years!).
One the whole the product is satisfactory and comparable (if not superior) to other multi-national brands like P&G’s Ariel, Henkel’s Henko etc.
