I had booked a room surya palace hotel - vadodara from the 19th to 20th in my wifes name and she had checked in on the 19th at 06:15am into the hotel on the 19th.
A) she was allowed to be checked in without any questions asked by the front office team
B) while checking out surprisingly she was asked to pay charges for an additional day as she had checked in early at 06:15am instaed of checking in at 12 noon which was the standard check in time.
C) my make my trip voucher clearly states that "early check in and late check out is subject to availability and may be chargeable" - in such a scenario it is the responsibility of the front office executive to inform guests well in advance about the charges and take their consent which in this case never happened
I did speak to the front office manager namely ali - who was in fact quite rude and had nothing the say but said it was as per policy - if that is the policy it is important that guests are aware of it. An charging me for a whole day just for 5 hours is not at all justified
My wife has been charged for an additional day mr. Ali - approx. 3200/- while my make my trip amount was only Rs.2800/- per night all inclusive - there was no transparency on the policy or procedures of the hotel. Pathetic state of service or communication
Thereafter I got a call from the hotel executive namely - ashima who was equally helpless
