Tujhe Hai Pukaara

Des...my country. Swades...my own country.

The story is of an American NRI, who returns to India in order to find his childhood nanny, Kaveriamma. Whilst in India, there is the usual, sideplot, filmi love story developing between him and newcomer Gayatri Joshi.

However, this is not the main message of Swades.

This film, though not exactly the best directed, can lose the plot at times, and may have some ideas constructed from the success of Lagaan expresses the true beauty of our country. No matter what riches and comforts you may live in abroad, no matter how content you are, if you visit India once, you’ll never forget it and want to come back again and again.

Even though SRK has a great job, great house, everything materialistic in America, he finds love and his own people in India, whose loss had made his life incomplete. He eventually starts to fall in love with the magic of India, and considers it as his own country.

The story is completely original and highlights the fact that India is the country of the world...we must all give back to that country.

Swades....a story of our country and a film which brought tears to my eyes as I remembered the warmth of India, which I sorely miss.

Yeh jo des hai mera, Swades hai mera........mujhe hai pukaraa

A very touching film...
