I travelled in May, 2004 and my handbag was picked at Zurich with my passports, tickets, visas, money, Eurail/Swiss Pass, credit/debit cards etc. and I was left stranded in a strange but beautiful country with no money and a Police that does not talk English.
The Indian Embassy too was not very friendly and did not volunteer any assistance apart from issuing a new passport at a hefty price even though I had none in my pocket and had to borrow to get a new passport.
The country is truly a heaven on earth and most picturesque but language is a big problem in most places and even though English is the universal language, it is not spoken in most places. This needs to undergo a change as the country gets tourists from all over the world.
I would definitely like to visit it again. The most beautiful places were Jungfrau, Mount Pilatus, Lucerne, Matterhorn and many more.
Just look after your bags......many pickpockets lurking everywhere especially in Zurich.
