I hate to cry at movies. I mean I have a reputation to maintain. What would the ladies sitting around me think of me ?? Well nothing really they were all busy weeping themselves in TZP. Ladies and Gentlemen ... Amir Khan has done it again. This man never fails to amaze me.
Every one or two years, he manages to come up with a masterpiece which rocks the very foundation of the stereotype routine we know as bollywood entertainment. No half finished romances, no love triangles, no NRIs targetted, no running around trees songs shot in Switzerland. Not that this movie doesnt have songs, but I found them very relevant, vary from extemely peppy to awesome punk rock but all relevant, often the songs were the ones where I just couldnt hold my tears in.
The story is about a dyslexic kid who was misunderstood by everone including his family, till he finds a teacher who turns his world around.
Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that manifests primarily as a difficulty with written language, particularly with reading and spelling. Though it can cause serious issues during initial education, it generally goes away with time and proper attention. Many ignorant parents try everything from scolding , beating to putting loads of psychological pressure in a vain attempt to bring about order and discipline when the issue is not about discipline ... rather its that of lack of concentration.
Some famous names who were Dyslexic include .. Tom Cruise, Leonardo Da Vinci, Winston Churchill, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Alexander Graham Bell, Walt Disney, Pablo Picasso, Lewis Carroll, Steven Speilburg and Mohammad Ali among countless others.
Bollywood is full of big mouths who can be often heard blowing their own trumpet. I have seen many so called BIG names in the industry talking about how good they are. But here is one man ... well one among a handful others who lets his work do all the talking.
When I saw Lagaan, I knew that it was a very good movie but TZP is the stuff oscars are made of.
A must watch for any and everyone !! Dont forget to bring your tissues :-)
