Just now watched TZP. Feeling too overwhelmed to talk about it objectively.Loved Ishaans world..that is full of imgination... full of colors... And, no... he is not alone... he lives in the company of his creativity...Look at the very many creative ideas that take birth in his mind...
He is a genius, a diamond... but alas unpolished...All he needs is a little support from the people surrounding him.. A little allowance to be what he is...A little freedom to run his imagination wild...
And when he gets it.. Boy! He goes on to win the race of life... He goes beyond competetion, beyond the limitations that life has put on him...But rises above all the shortcomings and emerges a true winner. A leap ino the skies, a flight of his wings...He even grows independent of his mother, emotionally... the one person with whom he is very involved...
And the voice within him sings...
Roshan hua saraa jahan! Udande ko tu azad hai!
Wow! What a concept! Very inspiring!
Aspects that were impactful:
The perspective of the world through Ishaans eyes
Acting by all cast
Picturization of all songs
Lyrics
Music
Ishaans paintings and the creative ideas within them
The painting competition
The ending.
Something that was a bit disengaging:
The training of Ishaan with his teacher Nikumh... a bit of a sudden change in the pace/mood of the movie. But the mood resumes back with the painting competition.
So, overall a classic movie... Can be watched again & again... Not far away from Hollywood classics like Good Will Hunting, A Beautiful Mind
