This is in reference to my request call to Taj Coromondel, Chennai Hotel for reserving a room for one of our top executive who will be visiting India from Japan in Sep 2014.
I called the reservations counter at Chennai on 12/Aug for confirming the rates for the guest stay. - My call was transferred to reservations & a gentlemen Mr.Satish attended me on call, on inquiring he informed me about the rates which was not so clear to me, so I requested Mr.Satish to send me detailed rate mail for the scheduled dates, he told me to send a test mail which I did & he told me that he will get back to me over mail with all information on rates in next 10~ 15 mins. - I was waiting for his mail till late evening yesterday but did not get any response. - Then I called on the same number today morning at 08:21 am on 13/Aug a lady by name Ms.Lakshmi attended me on phone & informed Mr.Satish has still not come to office & he is expected at 09:00 am, then she told I will be getting a call back by 09:00 am.
I was waiting for Mr.Satish call but till 13:45 pm today no call came & again I had to follow up & called on same number to get an update & fortunately I was connected to Mr.Satish who I had to memorize our yesterdays conversation then he very bluntly said mail the schedule, now tentative schedule I had already informed him over phone, in case if he was not clear on that, he could have called me yesterday itself, but he did not do that & when I questioned him why didnt he call me yesterday itself he had no answer for that.
The story still not ends here again I mailed him the schedule today at 15:10 pm, so far no response has come from Taj Coromondel side.
Now I realize why people prefer to go with other brands like Hyatt, Sarovar Portico, Radisson etc inspite of Taj having very good properties. Such attitude of staff will ruin the business potential of this group .
Biggest challenge to Mr.Rakesh Sarna in Taj Group will be changing attitude of people working there .
