hi
All you foodies in Bangalore , if you have visited taj(not that 4 or 5*hotel.)then you know where to get the best biriyani in town.
Before bangalore opened up to chettinad, andhra, kerala and punjabi biriyani , Bangalore had the taj to serve the best mughal biriyani in town.
Now to the place: this is situated in shivijinagar on oph road . This I believe a 25yrs(even more) old restuarant.
Parking is a night mare.Just park in some of the bylanes of commercial street and walk upto the place.
The ambience and decor are not very welcoming.first timers used to the standard hotels will think whether this is the place ..?
Dont worry just walk the strairs and if you are lunky enough you will get a seat in the supposedly a\c cabin. Now dont ever eat in the open section, bcoz the sight of bones, plates and assorted parnephalia will put you off. Better get to the a\c (again supposedly). the lights are dim .you will feel much better not seeing left over plates.
Now to the food.from my exp just order their mutton biriyani along with kabas or any other chicken dish. The biriyani is not heavy and masala used I say is to a bare minimum. and they serve it with brinjal sambar..trust me its very delicious and makes you forget all the haasles of getting there and you wont bother the ambience one bit after you start gorging.
All this comes to abt about 170ruppes for a couple .quite a steal.
Mughal biriyaniS are losing their charm bcoz everbody is making their own concotations of the same.
This place sticks onto its recipe for many years.
recommended for people who had enough of andhra and chettinad.
give it a try
