A cute little after-food place, Tajsats is the ideal place to nip into after a large meal and relax over a dessert. Most restaurants are sadly lacking in that sweet finishing touch to a meal and this place strikes me as quite unique. It has only about 2 sets of tables to sit on but it is also quite fast-moving and thus you mostly always get a place. Again, it may be miniature but carries itself off with style.
It might be tiny, but the upshot is that it is also clean, cosy and private. Also, you might think that given its brand name, the prices would be a little painful, but thats not really the case. Maybe except for the chocolates, which, lets face it, are anyway a delicacy that never comes cheap!
The desserts, if not extraordinary, ( I say this because one hears the word Taj and certain connotations spring to mind) are delicious, clean and best of all, completely reliable in quality. You wouldnt find anything which is remotely stale or dry. It isnt a five star place like the name suggests, but then the prices would match and thus it works out quite well. I would recommend the mousses here, which are soft, frothy and slightly bitter, just the way it should be. The giraffe mousse and the duet mousse can be tried. The variety, in fact, suits every palette. If you are not a mousse person, then try the New York cheesecake. Again, this is not out of the world, but the quality is excellent. Another cute item to taste are the tarts, such as lemon curd.
An average sized muffin or slice of cake here would be about Rs 100.
Must try after a meal.
