I have taken a home loan from SBI, Bangalore. SBI has been recognized at the best home loan provider by various media but am sure the media does not check the back office processes. Applying for a home loan was a pain staking process and SBI took a comfortable 6 months to clear my loan.
I had submitted the loan docs to a the home loan team and the person after 1 month got transferred.
The replacement did not know any head and tail of my file. and it was found to be missing after 2 months of follow up from my side.
once the file was found, they informed me after another 2 months that the legal opinion has expired, which I dutifully got a new one and submitted
then after 1 month they required another document, which when submitted was LOST by the executive.
After the loan file finally reached the racpcc - another uncoordinated dept of sbi, they took 2 weeks to process the same.
Finally in July 2009 they cleared my loan and I got the money. but did the problem end there.NO!
- During the discussion with racpcc, I requested to start paying the emi from sept 2009, which the lady executive accepted. Little did I know that how misinformed these sbi individuals are. I have recently come to know in April 2010, that a one month emi is pending for the period of Aug 2009. and I am being charged a penalty interest for not paying. This again was not informed by sbi officials. they said that the amount is too small for them to notice. However, they being govt servants. Would not realize that its the hard earned money of a middle class individual.
I have paid the amount. I just wonder they should not loose my cheque now. From the chief manager to the sbi executives. These guys are depressed with themselves and really enjoy harassing our lives. They of course are a fed up lot.
