Talaash, which released last week to over postive reviews, made me throng to theatre nearby, but after watching the movie, I felt the review had cheated me very badly. Looks like they have been paid for such a review. After watching the review, I felt it can be true, as it is Aamir Khans movie, we can expect something unusual in the script, but after watching the movie, I felt it was just an average thriller, with tad slow speed movement, and no entertainment through out.
The movie story is simple and vivid in its own right. An accident occur in an empty road, where a car just turns and goes to the sea, and the driver dies, who happen to be an actor Arman Kapoor. Inspector Suri(Aamir) investigate the case. On the other side, he has a very bad married life, where his sons death has turned his wife in shock, who rarely smiles. In comes Rosy(Kareena), a call girl of the red light area, who got involved in the case and helps Aamir solve the case. And the marriage life of Suri worsens, as his wife leaves him. Arman Kapoor was giving lots of money to a dalal Shashi, who also died till interval, and then how Suri solves the case, remains to be seen. And in the climax( if you are willing to spend the money, then dont read further, but if youre not, then read), it is revealed that Kareena is a ghost.
Her name was Simran. Arman Kapoor and his two friends hired Shashi to provide girls to them, and they meet Simran. Nikhil one of the two, started doing nasty thing in car, and the door of the car opened, and both tumpe out of the car, and Simran died there, and Nikhil was deeply injured. Simran takes her revenge, kills all of them related to her murder, and saves Suri who was also on the verge of drowning in water, and then Suri felts how the case would have folded, and he then finds the remaining skulls of Simran, and burns it, and now he feel that his son would have really contacted him by the help of a woman, who was coming and going through out the film and making his wife happy, after reading what his son has to say. Both Suri and his wife reunite.
Performance wise, its Aamir Khans film through out. Kareena stand tall with her performance. Rani Mukherjee is effective with her no make up role, and now, I think its the time for her to pack up from Bollywood. Nawazuddin Siddiue has proved his talent once again.
The music is nice to hear in the background, but the background music is boring. The cinematography is fine.
Director Reema Kagti script is nice in parts. Editing should have been crispier. On the all, Talaash is a movie, probably not to be watched in theatres. Except for Aamir and Kareenas performance, there is nothing nice in the movie, and if you really hate a person, give him a ticket of Talaash, for him to come screamig out at you after coming out of the theatres.
