Yummy for the tummy!! =)

Well, let’s begin this with how I found Tamarindo Bay products.

Here in Florida, we have a bunch of stores called, $1.00 stores, 99 cents stores, Everything’s a buck and 99 cent stuff stores (to name a few). I like to shop in 99 cent stuff stores, because that’s exactly what it is. All kinds of stuff for 99 cents and some 2 for 99 cents. I find a lot of unique household supplies and food products here.

A few weeks ago, while going up and down the aisles, I came across some new products and Tamarindo Bay condiments were among them. I picked up some of the hot sauces (cause I like to try all kinds of spicy condiments) and then I saw the steak sauce. I figured, they were all 2 for 99 cents, why not.

Well, the hot sauces were basically the same as all the others I have at home but, the steak sauce was GREAT!

It’s imported by the Half Moon Bay Trading Company, out of Jacksonville Florida, with imported ingredients from the Carribean Islands and Costa Rico.

The ingredients include:

Vinegar, Banana cane sugar, tamarind, pineapple, onion, molasses, salt, cayenne pepper, corn starch, soy sauce, black pepper, cloves, and garlic.

All mixed together into the tastiest sauce I’ve ever had!

The first time we tried it, we tried it on...steak (duh) and it brought out the flavor of the beef and added just the right amount of zing to make it wonderful. Next we tried it on pork, and it made the pork roast outrageously good. We’ve used it on lamb, shrimp and fish as well. And no matter what we use it on, it give the food a unique extra special taste.

But, beware, the little 5 ounce bottle of this delicious Carribean concoction becomes addictive! My boyfriend has used it on his eggs and in a dip he makes with sour cream and onions for veggies and crackers. I like to use it on ribs when I make the marinade and it adds special taste to tofu when I cook it as well.

Needless to say, I returned to the store and bought a bunch of these little bottles which now sit proudly in my kitchen cupboard, ready to use on anything I can think of!

I think I’ll use it on dinner tonight!
